Elopement Wedding at the Reservoir in Ridgeland, MS (Amanda + Alex)

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of filming the beautiful wedding of Amanda and Alex at the Reservoir in Ridgeland, MS!

This sweet couple met online and immediately felt a connection with one another. Amanda told us that on their first date, they both didn’t want it to end! They talked about all the things “you aren’t supposed to talk about” on a first date and had such an amazing time that they were already making plans to see each other again by the time they were walking back to their cars. After dating long-distance for a while, their relationship continued to grow stronger. When traveling became more restricted due to the start of the coronavirus pandemic, they never expected that they would be forced to stay apart for two months without seeing each other. On the very first day they were reunited, Alex proposed. The wedding planning quickly started from there!

This wedding was so special. Even in the midst of a pandemic, Amanda and Alex were super excited to get married. One of the reasons they reached out to us was because their mothers were not going to be able to attend the wedding— so they wanted a video that would make them feel like they were there. We met up with the couple, their photographer Melissa, and their officiant Denise at Old Trace Park at the Reservoir about an hour before sunset. The original place in the park where they wanted to get married, under the gazebo on the hill, ended up being reserved by a family having a gender reveal baby shower. So RD suggested this peaceful spot near the water where they exchanged their vows. The ceremony was so beautiful and emotional. It was a perfect evening! We are really thankful that Amanda and Alex chose us to create their beautiful wedding film!
